DIY Paper wreath

his year I have decided that our Christmas decor theme is...Drum roll please...

Paper, Wood and White!!

I've never been the traditional green and red kinda gal! Each year I have a different color theme! When I was single and living alone, it was usually either pink or purple! ;)

A few years ago it was blue!

This year my challenge is to try and use natural materials and items that are already in the house!

Today I made a paper wreath! I used a book that I already had, a little gold spray paint, and glitter!!

I first ripped out the pages from the book and free hand cut the shape into leafs.

I folded the leafs in half and put a just a little glue to keep it folded

I  glued them to a wreath I used for Thanksgiving.

Figuring out a pattern was a little hard because I didn't want the leafs to smash or overlay, So I started in the front and filled in empty spaces as I went.

It came out perfect!

I love it!!

I added a burlap ribbon from fabric I already had!

Happy Thursday!!

{F.T.H.B} Ruffled Throw Pillow!

Another day of fun at our {Favorite Things Holiday Bash}!  Well folks, I want to take a moment and introduce Brandi from Don’t Distrub This Groove!  She has a wonderful project to share with us today that you can create quick and easy to give to your loved ones this holiday season!
Grab your cup of joe and enjoy!

Hello, my name is Brandi and I blog over at Don't Disturb This Groove
I am thrilled to be guest posting today at the "Favorite Things Holiday
Bash"!  On my blog, I write about creating handmade projects, so I
thought I'd share with you, a pillow I made for my friend's
birthday!  I hope this project inspires you to create something
handmade this holiday season!

My gift to my friend was a handmade pillow similar to one we saw while
browsing together at Z
Gallerie

To construct her pillow, I made a simple pillow form using red cotton duck
fabric.  To make the felt clusters, I followed instructions as seen
here.
PS. Listening to music on my Itouch helped as I cut out all of the felt
circles!

The tutorial suggests hand-stitching the rosettes together, but to save
time I used my glue gun!  Once I completed my pattern, I stuffed the
pillow with polyfill and closed the opening shut, again using my glue gun.

 Isn't she lovely?!

My friend loved her gift!

Thanks again, Brandy and Sherika for inviting me over!  I hope you
all have a wonderful Holiday!
