I think I have said before that I am a way more decorator than cook!
I'm the type of person that cooks strictly out of need and necessity, rather than for entertainment and fun! But when it comes to Christmas I think there should always be something sweet, tasty in the kitchen!
Here are my top 5 favorite treats!!
Cupcakes!
Red Velvet cake!
white chocolate macadamia nut cookie
Pound cake
I am a little bias when it comes to pound cake though, my grandmother and father make the best 7up upside down pound cake you have ever tasted! (I have so many good cooks in the the family I should really be ashamed!)
I hope my dad doesn't read this...I can just see him shaking his head now! LOL!)
Last but not least
Apple pie crisp with a scope of vanilla ice cream!
And in celebration of my favorite holiday treats, I thought I would get in the kitchen and whip something up...but...it didn't exactly go as planned! They look horrible, but taste good...I promise!
I really shouldn't be showing this!!
Straight up from Betty Cockers box!
The frosting
1 c. white sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. Almond exact
Boil first 3 ingredients until it starts to bubble, then remove from stove. Add vanilla and spread on!
