The Gold rush 2!

So I was busy working on everything except my bedroom today! UGH! I don't know why I can't stay focused!!
On a better note, other rooms in my house are coming along! I ordered a bunch of fabric that should be here soon, so next week I will be busy making pillows, curtains and covering our ottoman! All of which are still not for our bedroom. I wonder if it not to late to change my challenge!

Ok, so about today!
I'm still a little obsessed with gold! I was looking for a gold and black mirror online and boy did I fall in love with a lot of them!

These are all way out of my price range....so very determined, I ran off to the dollar store to see what I could come up with!
I found black and gold little mirrors that would work perfect! I bought 13!!

My pretty little monster broke one!

I took the mirror that was hanging above my fireplace

(My apologies for horrible picture quality and please excuse me in the picture! also there is no tutorial)
Mirrors are so hard to photograph!

and turned it into this...

I used the glue gun to glue the small mirrors onto the bigger one.

The sun burst mirror that was hanging there before is now above the fireplace!

Happy Wednesday!!

I'm partying here!

Gold rush!

I'm currently in a gold and wood stage in my life!

I either want everything glamorous gold or rustic wood, my husband is probably happy for the masculinity that has suddenly come in to play!

I have a few lamps around the house that really needed some sprucing up!

These lamps are in our entryway, something about them just didn't seem finished. They are pretty, and I love the shine, But I wanted glam!
Of course there isn't anything a little spray paint can't fix!

Rustoleum metallic in gold, changed the look!

With the help of some ribbon I found at Walmart

I think this is definitely the effect I was looking for!!

While I was at it...I hooked this baby up too!

I couln't find any painters tape in the house! Electrical tape seemed to work just fine!

 A little spray...

And VOILA!

I'm smiling just looking at them!!

Happy Almost Turkey day!!

C is for Cool Chalkbroad!

Have you ever been in the middle of one project and out of nowhere got an idea for something else!
This happened to me yesterday! I got this idea to make Eden a little learning corner in her room!

I had this picture frame that we used at our wedding for everyone to sign, it worked great as decor in our first home, but after almost 3 years...I'm kinda tried of looking at it! I felt bad so I left it alone, until my husband ever so cleverly hinted that we needed some new pictures up!

That's all he needed to say!!
Here is the picture frame. The perfect size!

I cut some MDF that we used for our closet office with the jigsaw, painted the frame with Krylon's ivory in satin, sanded and distressed the frame using Valspar's antiquing glaze.

I used fabric from other projects in Eden's room for the trim and gift bags from her baby shower for the pendant

2 coats of chalk pain

Added some clothes pins and TA-DAAAA

 Before

After

Eden loves it!!

I have yet to find a cute little table and chair...but don't worry you know I'm on it!

Here is the project I was working on first
Gotta love contact paper

Have a great weekend!!

Entryway Update!

Our entryway is coming along!

Am I the only one who feels like no matter how much work and effort I put into a room it's never done!?
I'm loving what is currently in there now, just need to add a few more things!

SO many different choices and combinations!

Please excuse the drawings...I, in no way claim to be an artist! Just wanted you to see what's currently in my head!

This is where the progress is now!

I just feel its missing something!

Any suggestions??

Thanks! Hope you have a great weekend!

Drab to FAB!!

I kinda inherited this console table when we moved into our home!
It worked perfectly fine for what we needed, but definitely was in need of a face lift!

I first sanded it, then used Krylon's dual primer and paint

And Here's she is in all her Fabulousness!

The entryway is starting to look pretty good!
I'm still in need of a rug and I probably will end up adding a little something to those boring lamp shapes!
